Guess who posted not only a bulletin today, but a new song too? That would be fearsome trio Gossip.

We are recording our new record….thanks to everyone that has been patient…it will be done soon!

While the group hasn’t made a live appearance in Portland for over a year now, it remains active locally by practicing, practicing and practicing again to the tune of three times per week. Not much new material has emerged from these sessions, which I assume were merely prep for endless tours abroad (as if those live dates aren’t practice enough). New track “1000 Things” proves a lot more has been going on under the radar during continued rehearsals.

“1000 Things,” is rather stark and bare, though it could just be the song in demo form. Or it signal a new direction, or a return to Gossip’s roots as it sounds more like oldie “Sweet Baby” from the threesome’s debut disc That’s Not What I Heard than the charged soul-meets-disco tunes from its last studio album Standing in the Way of Control.
