DJ Zimmie, “Push My Love (Salt-N-Pepa versus Justin Timberlake),” Unreleased
It’s been a while since we’ve highlighted a mashup as a Cut of the Day, and I can’t think of a better track to return with. Justin Timberlake’s “My Love?” Awesome. Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It?” Awesome. Together? Even more awesome. Who do we have to thank for such a master mix? Why DJ Zimmie, of course.
And DJ Zimmie just so happens to be the focus of Hang the DJ today. We talk about a multitude of topics including his remixes and mashups. Here’s part of what he had to say about this track:
Sometimes a song just bothers me until I need to do something with it. “Push My Love” had to be done because “My Love” was so big and so low energy. A lot of my remixes come out of a need for a danceable version of a popular song.
