A pattern revealed itself during the course of the recording of this new version of These Are The Days: there’s a whole lot of “new” going on around here. On this edition of These Are The Days, music by New Century School Book, one of Willamette Week’s best new bands, Nurses, the Rainy States’ recent single “New Castle,” and a band still proudly wearing that new band smell, Wilson High School’s Starparty. There’s also an interview with local producer Shay Scott, responsible for twiddling some knobs during the process for new tracks from Paper Brain and Ross McLeron. Also featuring standout tracks from standbys Deer Or the Doe, the Metal Shakespeare Company, and Taxpayers, this podcast reflects that old familiar adage we should all take to heart: make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold.
