Lost Gospel Brings Loch Lomond to Canterbury Castle
Well ladies and gents, it looks like Lost Gospel is back. Only this time, the collective is going wayyyyyyyy back in time. How does Loch Lomond playing in front of an old gothic castle sound?
For the latest installment of the series—which pits some of our favorite local bands performing an off-beat show in an off-beat location—Richie Young and company will be singing outside of a real castle, built in 1930 in Portland’s West Hills and being torn down as we speak. But first, everyone is invited to meet at 1:30 pm at the Washington Park tennis courts to start the march up to Canterbury—and to see which of the pilgrims can tell the best story and get a free supper. Bonus points to anyone who can actually recite Chaucer during the walk.
Here’s what the Lost Gospel folks have to say:
Around 1930 a real, actual castle was built atop a bluff. Now that castle is coming down. This Sunday Lost Gospel will be giving it the story-book ending it deserves with the help of Loch Lomond and the attendees. The castle is already in the process of being torn down, so it will be in front of the ruins that Loch Lomond play. By this time next week, the castle will be completely gone.
Details:
