Friday June 19th
Y La Bamba, of course, stopped by my home town Ashland, Oregon. We were hosted by “The Where House,” which is run by my old band members Romance Forgery, Aaron Hoppe, Andrew Barnes, and Jeremy Fetters. Good things are going for this venue it seems like they are getting really good musicians passing through.

That night we played with Jesse Bettis from Oh Captain My Captain which is from Portland as well like we are. We also played with Southern Oregon singer-songwriter David Karsten Daniels.

It was a nice night of old memories and familiar faces, and it was a good first show to start off the tour. Yea yea its always a bummer when the acoustic conditions are not favorable…but it was still fun anyway.

We left Ashland with a new song that Ben and David Kyle started to write just as we were leaving. We will send you a lil snippet later….hahahaaaaaha!

San Fran was an awesome show at Bottom of the Hill with another PDX band, Viva Voce (sweet beautiful people). Good turn out and it was a really interesting crowd. And um..will never forget when that girl smeared her breasts on the window that was behind the stage while Viva Voce was playing. Holy shit was that disturbing but funny, I mean how drunk was she? (thank Mike’s Half brother for that one)?

New Zealand band Cut Off Your Hands were fucking awesome! I got to talk to the lead singer at the merch table and told him I used to live in the South Island of New Zealand when I was doing YWAM. We related and knew what that shit was all about….weird.

YWAM is “Youth with A mission.” There are bases all over the world where young adults go to learn theology and become missionaries and to make it clear…no, I am not a missionary thank GOD…..anyyyyyyyyyways.

The boys drove all through the forgiving night as the desert spoke to me in my dreams. Dreamy world was so surreal and heavy because I have been reading astral projection literature called “The Sorcerer’s Crossing.” These type of books are all scattered in the van.

A couple stops at a few taquerias in the barren desert and now we’re here in Palm Springs at the Ace Hotel where they treat us so well! Tonight we play in L.A. at “Hotel Cafe” with Emily Wells. Just chilling till load in for now.
