We sent ace photographer and all-around rad dude Brian Lee to see Zap Mama last Saturday night. He came back with some gorgeous photos and this to say: “Zap Mama’s energetic and multilingual performance on Saturday night inspired arm-raising, body-undulating, free-flow dancing at Doug Fir. When Ms. Mama belted out a line in Swahili (at least I think it was Swahili) someone from the back called out excitedly “what’d you say?!!” It wasn’t a question so much as a thank you.”
