The Builders and the Butchers Hit NPR, Shoot a Video, Etc.
The folks over at NPR gave the Builders & the Butchers their coveted Cut of the Day equivalent this morning. “Devil Town,” from the band’s brand-spanking-new Salvation is a Deep Dark Well, is playing over on the site. NPR’s Andy Young says “They may live thousands of miles away, but more and more bands from the Pacific Northwest make music that conjures up images of crawfish, revival tents and the sweltering bayous of Louisiana.”
The Builders entire album had been streaming over at AOL’s Spinner site, too, but it seems to have been replaced by the Wu Tang Clan, Portland’s own All Smiles and a timely Twisted Sister reissue.
But that’s not all the B&B that’s fit to print. The band is filming a video for “Golden and Green” with Portland’s Alicia Rose, and stills from the shoot can be found right here. Which I found out from the band’s new Twitter feed. Holy cow, talk about entering the 21st century!
The band’s new album can currently be downloaded for $7 over at Amie St. (which is a crazy rollercoaster of a site), and tomorrow at 6 pm, the double-Bs note, they will play some new songs at Music Millennium. Phew!
