Video: The Builders and the Butchers, “Golden and Green”
Filmed on location in White Salmon, WA and featuring, among other things, a prancing group of Vivian Girls, the Builders and the Butchers’ new video for “Golden and Green” is pretty damn epic. Bringing the story of Henry Darger to life, director Alicia Jr. Rose creates a pretty—yet harrowing—world of lush forest greens, old cabins, and top hats, complete with an ending that you’ll probably want to watch again. This clip isn’t just the first video from the Butchers’ Salvation is a Deep Dark Well, it’s also the first one they’ve ever done, and Rose aces the difficult task of crafting a narrative song into a video that only makes the track sound stronger. Hopefully, this will get the Builders a bit of MTV (or is it MTV2 that shows music videos nowadays?) play, or at least a spot on P4K. Do they have a PMA for best music video yet?
