For your daily dose of flying saucer goodness, check out this recent Portland extra terrestrial sighting caught on tape:

Here’s the background on the “UFO Over Portland, OR” video, posted by “frankwj”

“Just got home from work looked up in the sky, noticed a brite object just floating in the sky.ran in the house and got my camcorder, filmed it for about 15 min.there was other people that saw it too.it was on the local news three days later.”

Nothing like ambiguous little white dots floating around in the sky…

    I think it was Superman!

  2. Peter B. Davenport says:

The National UFO Reporting Center receives many reports of unidentified lights in the sky, which are similar to this case in Portland.

Given that the object was witnessed for an estimated 15 minutes, I doubt that it was a genuine UFO. The witness indicates that he first observed the object, upon returning from work. If he happened to be facing west, as he watched the object, he may have been been observing the planet Venus, which is quite bright, and quite prominent, in the western sky during early evening hours.

However, this is just a guess. Only an investigation could determine what the object was.

I saw something very similar to this, but on April 30 2006 here in Portland, Oregon. I was facing the EAST direction and saw something very bright – a silvery white dot in the sky around 4:10 pm. It did not move for over 10 minutes of the time I watched it. I watched it from 3 locations -outside and inside my home. I tried desparately to catch it on video tape but my VHS Camcorder could not pick it up (hence why I bought a better Camcorder with 25X optical zoom) But the brief description and how this object looks submitted from Frankwj seems quite similar to what I saw and tried to video tape last year.
