UPDATE: It’s 10 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 15 and Leanimal…oops…excuse us….Leanne Marshall has just won Project Runway. And, frankly, she deserved it. A couple of days ago WW talked to Leanne Marshall. At the time she wouldn’t give up the big secret, but when she said she was moving to New York, well….we’ll just let her speak for herself. Below is our previous post and her interview.

Congrats, Leanne! I guess nice people sometimes realy do finish first:

The buzz around the fashion world is that Portland Oregon’s very own Leanne Marshall just might do the impossible, and become the next winner of Project Runway.

While we will have to wait until Wednesday ( 9 pm, BRAVO-TV ) to see if Leanne actually wins the whole thing, you don’t have to wait to hear what she has to say about the show.

In an telephone interview with Willamette Wee k from her cozy Portland apartment prior to returning to New York for the post-finale show, Marshall talked to us about getting recognized in Portland, why she is relocating to New York, how she’s a bit tired of eating grilled cheese sandwiches, who should be the next Portland designer on Project Runway , and what designer best “moments” didn’t make the show (Kenley really is that bratty).

Here is WW’ s interview with Leanne Marshall (you go, Leanne!):

  1. michele says:

Leeanne has been my favorite designer all season, and her clothing is magnificent. I like Korto, too, but, Leeanne is light years more original than any other designer for years. Her water-inspired line is to die for. Her runway made the bratty Kenley’s line look as Minnie Mouse as it was. Her big ostrich wedding dress is enough to give anyone a good laugh. As far as I’m concerned, Leeanne has already won. Korto is also a winner. Kenley is a jerk.

Great interview, but project runway is on at 9pm, not 8pm.

I worked with Leanne at a newspaper in Marysville, CA when she was a graphic designer in Yuba City, California. I was a writer and I didn’t really know her very well, but I was amazed when I saw her on "Project Runway." I wish to congratulate her on her tremendous win and wish her the best in the future.

    How awesome! Good job Leanne!

  7. [...] blah blah, Leanne Marshall, Portland’s fashion scene. I am of two minds of this alleged fashion blossoming in our fair [...]
