I personally miss nothing on NW 23rd because I hate the vibe of that street and never go there. But on a general level, its bad to see things tanking anywhere in town.

I wonder if the owner who boosted MM’s rent is now regretting it. That store brought a lot of foot traffic to 23rd. I wonder if the other closings are related, or if it’s just the recession?

Yeah, then they should reopen Lancers Tavern, which used to have that spot. It would be wonderfully nostalgic to have that corner smelling like piss and stale beer again.
