A March 3, 2009, draft document [PDF] from the Portland Development Commission shows the potential impact on Lents of a new AAA baseball stadium.

The draft assumes the baseball stadium would need $25 million in funding from the Lents Town Center urban renewal area. It also assumes that money would be split between the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 budget years.

But it also notes the “stadium financing would consume enough financial capacity that potential projects beyond 2013-2014 would be somewhat reduced.”

Nine urban-renewal projects in Lents would lose funding, including:

Lents’ town center redevelopment -7,435,000
The Johnson Creek Industrial Area -2,000,000
A commercial corridor -400,000
Neighborhood transportation safety -3,800,000
Southeast 92nd redevelopment -3,400,000
Lents business finance -1,600,000
Lents storefront grants -400,000
Community economic development -500,000
Target industry development -1,100,000

The advisory committee is scheduled [PDF] to meet Tuesday, May 12. Mayor Sam Adams and Commissioner Randy Leonard are included on the agenda, however Adams is also scheduled to be in Brussels.

If those jerks (developers) want sports stadiums then let them foot the ENTIRE bill. I’m not willing to bankroll their money making, or more like money losing (for tax purposes) follies!!!!
