Watch history in the making Saturday, June 20 as a group of Portland kickballers tries to break the world record for the longest kickball game.
In addition to playing kickball at Overlook Park (N. Fremont Street and Interstate Avenue) for 30 hours, the founders of the non-profit Kicking Hunger intend to raise money for the Oregon Food Bank and celebrate the game with a festival in the park.
Visitors can join pick-up kickball games at the park and listen to local entertainment at the festival, which will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m on Saturday, and Sunday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The prospective record-breakers, who will play through the night, must play at least 24 hours and 15 minutes to break the Guinness world record set last year in Philadelphia by a group that included the NBA’s Kyle Korver.
