Kettleman Bagels, Portland’s only good bagel bakery, is opening a third branch downtown at Southwest 4th Avenue and Taylor Street in early July.

Clarklewis, the former star in the crown of the Ripe restaurant empire, now owned by Bruce Carey, recently debuted a brunch menu. Former Bluehour and Balvo pastry chef Jehnee Rains is working her magic there. Jasmine tea panna cotta, anyone?

Miwon BBQ, an excellent restaurant inside Fubonn, has closed.

Alameda Brewing is, according to the Portland Business Journal, seeking to move into the former City Sports Bar space.

Miso Happy, a mediocre Vietnamese restaurant on Northwest 23rd Avenue, is now Red Onion, a Thai restaurant operated by the same crew that started Dang’s Thai Kitchen in Lake Oswego and Chaba Thai on Northeast Sandy Boulevard before that.
