A group of local Iranian-Americans has announced a rally in Portland this Friday keyed to the ongoing demonstrations in Iran challenging presidential election results.
The June 19 rally starts at 7 p.m. in front of the Portland State University Library on South Park Blocks, according to an announcement (PDF) released today. The organizers request no “flags, political party affiliations or offensive slogans” at the rally.
Chalk it up as more proof that the Iranian community in Portland is still active, even in the face of adversity.
