A spokesman for the campaign to recall Mayor Sam Adams says the Attorney General’s report today clearing the mayor of criminal prosecution will not affect the recall effort’s plans to start July 7.

Recall spokesman Jasun Wurster says the Attorney General can only hold Adams accountable for legal statutes statues, but that Portland voters should hold him accountable for what Wurster calls civic and ethical violations.

“If the citizens of Portland want Adams to be recalled,” Wurster says, “he will be recalled.”

  1. Tony Columbo says:

    He will be recalled.

  2. torridjoe says:

Good luck with all of THAT, guys. I wouldn’t even give odds on getting it to the ballot, now.

    • tw says:

      Early lunch break?

      • torridjoe says:

why, are you looking for a date?

        • annie says:

Absolutely. The soonest possible date Portland can breathe unpolluted air, again.

The earliest date we can be free from a mayor that continues to pull us roped to the rear bumper of his pick up truck, applauded and enabled from the strategist and Samophiles who have no concerns beyond their own greed and gluttony, and park a vacant sign in their murky minds and souls.

  3. pencil lead says:

I am not sure what bearing if any legal “statues” have to do with today’s annoucement other than it is unlikely that one bearing the visage of our current mayor will ever be erected (so to speak).

I think you meant to say “statutes”. But then again, maybe not.

  4. Dasha says:

“hold Adams accountable for legal “statutes”"- NOT “statues.” Come on, WW, computer spell check does not fix everything.

  5. Joseph says:

It is my belief that this recall effort is a squandering of the Conservative effort within the City Of Portland.

It is my belief that the statistical analysis (and the grass roots response to this issue) does not warrent this effort and dooms the recall to failure.

This failure will only appear as a vendetta to the vast majority of Independent non-aligned voters and this will be remembered in future electoral campaigns.

    • annie says:

You see yourself as clever, Joseph, with your sick reverse psych. attempt to brainwash all the fragile liberals in town, by infiltrating the idea that by ousting Adams, they would somehow be connected to the Conservative party?

Your goal being, to then switch sides and take credit, after all of us (Liberals and Conservatives together) get him out, then you (the FAR RIGHT) can take credit in future elections, as it being your efforts, when you and your conservative bunch, work to get Obama and the Dems out. In the meantime feeling that you also win by having him stay in office, so that you can really run all his corruption to Portland in, if he stays in office.

Sorry you sick Ultra Conservative Right Wing Fear Monger, but this is a bi-partisan issue to get the Fool’s Mayor, the corporate greed/agenda tool, out of office, and anyone buying into your and the rest of you neo-nazi wanna be’s plan to intimidate the naive crowd into believing that if they find themselves changing their mind on Adams, they might be falling into your weird story of Conservative trap, is mistaken.

Sneaking in AGAIN to turn it around into a Liberal vs.Ultra Right Wing Conservative thing, except that your vulture breath gives your manipulative agenda away, and has been since last winter with that Fascist crap you tried to boot kick the door down with then.

Sam Adams is so your tool, and when we get him out, you will not lay claim to the effort.

      • wobmatta says:

Hey Annie, there are treatments for paranoia. Start with getting outside more. Breathe deeply. And try to stay away from knives. We know you want to stab the nearest homosexual, but it won’t make you feel better, and then you’ll be booked for homicide, and that’ll be a real bummer for you.

        • annie says:

Actually wob…the nearest homosexual to me right at this moment…is my cousin M., visiting from Seattle, with his partner A., staying at my house, this week.

Hopefully we are not in any danger with all the knives out…as we are in a full on cook-a-thon, and the knives are sharp.

Your response to our collaborative efforts on the post we sent last night and you have responded to…have given us more food for thought on the matter.

  6. rolandson says:

I am about as liberal as it gets Joseph, more socialist than not. I just don’t like being deceived. Nothing required Adams to lie his way into office and once he did, he demonstrated that he is undeserving of the public trust.

    • wobmatta says:

oh what a crapload. parade a fag’s sex life around in mid-campaign and you’ve instantly torpedoed his election.

      fucking moron.

    • kaminski says:

      whoa wob-o-mattic,
in case you weren’t paying attention idiot, adams pretty much banked his campaign on being gay…it’s what got him elected. you apparently were playing pocket pool a little to much to notice.

  7. Henry says:

find me politician that is deserving of public trust….. not a one. get over it people, believe me it won’t happen and continued mud slinging will only weaken your position. Yay conservatives never say die…. even at your own expense.
